Size and Space:
As climbing man wall sculptures come in many shapes and forms, from just one climbing man to several, the size of your wall is necessary to factor in. If you have high ceilings, Suzanne Kasler recommends choosing a wall sculpture that has more than one figure. Just one figure will create an awkward area due to the multitude of space left around it. The item the climbing man is climbing will add to the sculpture, too. Is the rope long and tall to emphasize the sculpture, or is it smaller to accentuate narrow spaces? Either way, you'll need to decide where to hook the top of the sculpture. No matter the height of your wall, a gap of 5-7 inches should always be left between artwork and your ceiling.
Color:
Due to the minimalist nature of a climbing man wall sculpture, a large proportion of them feature a neutral color scheme. The most popular color by far is black. Sometimes a sculpture finish is matte, but often a gloss is added to make the figures pop. If you're looking to create a more abstract vibe with your climbing man artwork, a multicolored sculpture will fit the bill perfectly. Bright and bold without being visually overwhelming even against a white wall, a colorful sculpture will bring a splash of color to minimalist spaces. Looking to stick with a lowkey vibe? A bright white or metallic sculpture will add sophistication to a space while still maintaining an understated appearance.
Material:
Resin is the most common material choice for climbing man wall sculptures. Though resin is not necessarily a super strong material by itself, there are specific types of resin that are designed for additional durability. Plus, the lightness of resin can be useful for smaller artwork like a climbing man wall sculpture, as it makes the sculpture less likely to tug at whatever you hang it on. In turn, this leads to less chance of wall damage from pulled-out hooks or nails. Alongside resin, climbing man sculptures are made from metal, particularly iron. Iron is strong and sturdy, though it does have a tendency to rust unlike resin. An iron wall sculpture will require a stronger hook on your wall.
